A moderated panel discussion highlighting the work of direct service providers across Poweshiek County will be held in the Caulkins Community Room at Drake Community Library (930 Park St) on Thursday, Aug. 27, from noon-1:30 p.m.
Featuring representatives from the Grinnell Housing Authority, Mid-Iowa Community Action – MICA, the Empowerment Center, Iowa Legal Aid, Grinnell-Newburg Community Schools, City of Grinnell, City of Malcom, Iowa, Grinnell Police Department, and Brooklyn Public Library. The event will explore community needs, the services organizations provide, and meaningful ways residents can support local individuals and families. Following the panel, attendees are invited to tour the Community Crate, an interactive traveling exhibit housed in a transformed shipping container that highlights the realities of housing insecurity in Central Iowa.
Free and open to the public, no RSVP needed. Before the panel, a light lunch will be served.
