Why are some people afflicted with depression or anxiety that won’t ever go completely away? Those interested are encouraged to learn more as Iowa Valley Grinnell presents Dr. J.R. Paulson delivering a free 8-week class, “Depression That Won’t Go Away,” starting March 17.
Despite the widespread availability of antidepressant medications, there seems to be an epidemic of unhappiness, substance abuse, other addictions, and suicides. Mental health leader Dr. J.R. Paulson suggests that maybe depression is more than just a chemical imbalance in the brain. His 8 week class will uncover the underlying causes of depression and suggest multiple ways to overcome it. The class is intended for those suffering from chronic depression or anxiety but also anyone interested in learning more about this important topic, including friends, relatives, teachers, professors, or therapists.
Registration is not required but is encouraged by calling 641-236-0513. This class is open to the public and will be held on Tuesdays, March 17 through May 5, from 7 to 9 pm at Iowa Valley Grinnell, 123 6th Ave. West (room 145) in Grinnell.
