The foundation administrative offices building for the Claude W. and Dolly Ahrens Foundation went through a recent makeover with the renovation of a new reception area and additional conference room space. With increased traffic over the past several years due to the foundation’s growing Community Support Services (CSS) program now in its tenth year of operation, there was a need to create a more welcoming reception space and seating area along with adding a third conference room for all eleven staff members working in the building.
“Hundreds of people are in and out of our administrative building on any given week due to the majority of our partner organizations meeting here for board meetings, committee meetings, special events or meetings with staff along with the general public stopping in for a multitude of reasons,” explains Julie Gosselink, president and CEO of the Claude W. and Dolly Ahrens Foundation. “It is important that we provide a first class facility to meet all of the various needs of the community and that is also inviting and accessible for all.”
The Claude W. and Dolly Ahrens Foundation shares office space with its community partners, including the Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation, Imagine Grinnell and student fellows of Grinnell College. The new conference room is named after the late Tom Marshall, founder and past president of the Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation, named the Thomas K. Marshall room.
