The Grinnell-Newburg School Foundation (GNSF) has launched “We
Belong Here,” a new podcast highlighting the achievements and stories that make the
Grinnell-Newburg School District exceptional. The podcast debuted January 29 and new
episodes are released every Monday at 7 p.m.
“We Belong Here” amplifies the vibrant spirit of the Grinnell-Newburg School District by
sharing authentic stories of achievement, innovation, and community. The podcast extends
GNSF’s successful “We Belong Here” campaign launched in 2023, bringing these stories to life
in an engaging audio format. Hosted by Dan Walker of Tiger Sports Livestream Network, the
podcast aims to inform listeners about school-related news while championing the district’s
teachers, staff, students, and community supporters.
The inaugural episode featured GNSF Executive Director Liz Hansen and GNSF Co-President
Chelsey Kolpin, who introduced the podcast’s mission. Recent episodes have showcased
conversations with Milken Award recipient and Davis Elementary teacher (and
Grinnell-Newburg alumna) Holly Hunter, Building Our Community Together committee
members and fellow alumni Stephanie Lair and Zach Van Arkel, GHS English and Speech
teacher Kevin Hosbond, and GNCSD Superintendent Lisa Beames.
Upcoming episodes will feature discussions with:
– Julie Gosselink and Chad Nath from the Ahrens Park Foundation
– Barb Baker, Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance, Partners-in-Education
