March 6, 2020
In order to mitigate any potential spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the March 9 International Women’s Day event scheduled to be held at Grinnell Mutual has been cancelled.
While there are no confirmed cases in Iowa right now and the risk is low for COVID-19, the situation is fluid and evolving quickly and we are acting pre-emptively.
S.H.E. Counts and Grinnell Mutual are extremely disappointed, but our first priority is the health and safety of the Grinnell community.
The good news is that S.H.E. Counts is working on other ways to celebrate our honorees and our scholarship recipients. We are also looking for an alternative way to host the silent auction, so please watch for updates on our Facebook page.
And of course you can still help through our personal care item drive! Between April 1 and Mother’s Day (May 10), you’ll see donation spots around Grinnell. Donations will go to Crisis Intervention Services (CIS) and Mid-Iowa Community Action.
As a reminder, tickets will not be refunded and are not tax-deductible. Your ticket will be considered as a generous (and much appreciated!) donation to S.H.E. Counts. Thank you!
