Today we participated in the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative Walk at Ahrens Park alongside staff from the Ahrens Park Foundation and the Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation. This is the 15th year for the annual walk and Ahrens Park was a registered host site for Poweshiek County. What a beautiful October day!
Iowa Healthiest State Initiative
The Iowa Healthiest State Initiative is a non-profit organization that works with communities, businesses, and schools to improve the physical, social, and mental well-being of Iowans. Its vision is that every Iowan should have the opportunity to live their healthiest life.
Healthiest State Walk
The Healthiest State Walk is a statewide event encouraging Iowans to walk for at least 30 minutes to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity. The 15th annual walk took place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
Ahrens Park in Poweshiek County
Ahrens Park served as a local host site for the 2025 Healthiest State Walk, encouraging Grinnell residents in Poweshiek County to participate in the statewide event. While the walk was a single day event, participants were also encouraged to walk at a time that worked best for them.
